If Wishes Were Stars
If wishers were stars then there would be plenty to go around. Each one of us would have what we wanted and we would all be happy.
The phrase ‘be careful what you wish for’ comes to mind. What if we wish for something that we believe will make us happy and it doesn’t. What if that wish makes us miserable?
Well we get a ‘do over’? Will there be enough wishes for us to get more than one? There are so many stars and so many people that it may not be possible to have more than one wish. What if we were not the only planet that wanted to make wishes? There would be even less to go around.
But wishes are not stars. We can not have wverything we want as soon as we want it. There are no do overs. The best we can hope for is that we get what we need and make the best of what we get.
But wouldn’t it be nice if wishes were stars?
