If Wishes Were Stars

If wishers were stars then there would be plenty to go around. Each one of us would have what we wanted and we would all be happy.

The phrase ‘be careful what you wish for’ comes to mind. What if we wish for something that we believe will make us happy and it doesn’t. What if that wish makes us miserable?

Well we get a ‘do over’? Will there be enough wishes for us to get more than one? There are so many stars and so many people that it may not be possible to have more than one wish. What if we were not the only planet that wanted to make wishes? There would be even less to go around.

But wishes are not stars. We can not have wverything we want as soon as we want it. There are no do overs. The best we can hope for is that we get what we need and make the best of what we get.

But wouldn’t it be nice if wishes were stars?

Remember To Love Me

I was startled by what I saw on your office wall. It was next to a photo of me. It was a yellow sticky note.

Is that what our love has been reduced to? A reminder scrawled on a sticky note.

Why must you be reminded to do something you once did so easily? Have I changed? Have you changed? When did this happen?

There are so many questions that have been brought to my mind all because of a sticky note on your office wall.

You loved me once as easily as breathing. I loved you that way too. I still do. 

For now use the sticky note to remind you of me and what I once meant to you. Someday the glue will dry up and it will fall to the floor and be swept away.

I remember when you would be swept away with passion for me. It has been so long now that it is a distant memory. A feeling that once was will be gone.

I have left another sticky note on your wall. It says: Don’t bother.

The Seeds Within You

We are all full of seeds. The seeds are called possibilities. Each one has the potential of being something great.

When a seed is nurtured and cared for it will grow into a wonderful thing. Those seeds may be great art, great music or great writing. A seed could also be the skill of a great surgeon who saves more lives than can be counted.

When a seed is not nurtured it will become rotted and will never fulfill the potential it held. That is the biggest waste of all. We as a human race will lose so much from seeds that were never nurtured.

Imagine a world where all the seeds within an individual were nurtured. Imagine the great things that will come from those seeds. The art, music and literature would only be the beginning. Diseases could be cured. Technology would be advanced. Life for all citizens of the world would improve.  

We have the possibility to do anything. We also have the ‘seed’ within us to nurture the seeds in others. It is the most important of all our seeds because it reseeds the world with the next generation.      

Nurture some seeds and plant a better world.

Coffee And Chocolate

Coffee wakes you up and gives you the boost that you need to make it through the day. Some days you need more coffee than others. Some days you want less. It all evens out in the end.

Chocolate is just as necessary as coffee. Some would argue it is even more so. It makes your brain happy and a happy brain is a productive one. The darker chocolate is the better. Darkness equals happiness when it comes to chocolate.

When you combine the boost of coffee and the happiness of chocolate magic happens. It is the best and most productive combination in the world.

We should all consume coffee and chocolate as often and as much as possible. We would all be happy productive people. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?

The Journey

We all take a journey. It’s called life. Some journeys are short and some are long but we all travel along.

What makes one journey different from another are the stops we make along the way. This school or that job makes one journey unique from another. Who and when we fall in love also makes an impact.   

The best life is the one with many stops. Each stop builds on the richness of the overall journey. They make a collection of stories

Think of the stories as a collection of postcards from the stops we have made. The thicker the stack the longer it will take to look through it. Each postcard tells a story of the stop made along the journey. Some are full color and glossy others are simple black and white thick cardstock. No two are the same.

The traveler with the best postcards will think the journey too short. The traveler with the fewest or with the ugliest will think the journey too long.

On your journey of life enjoy the ride and don’t forget the postcards!

What is a Revolution?

A revolution is an overthrow or repudiation and the thorough replacement of an established government or political system by the people governed. This is usually con by a conquering force or an uprising. History shows us that this is effective but never completely stable

According to ‘Sociology’ a revolution is a radical and pervasive change in society and the social structure, especially one made suddenly and often accompanied by violence. This is more a grass roots started movement. There have been several examples of this in recent times. Arab spring is one that comes to mind.

A revolution can also be a sudden, complete or marked change in something. the example given is the present revolution in church architecture. This can also be seen in the conscious of people. When the realization comes that their life is not what they want, then a personal revolution is in order.

A revolution is also a procedure or course, as if in a circuit, back to a starting point. When I hear this I see a race course or a running track. I also see something revolving around a fixed point like a record on a turntable.

But a revolution can simply be a single turn of some kind. It is true that what goes around comes around thus creating a revolution of its own kind.
