The Scarf of Fate 
We are held together with stitches like the yarns in a scarf. We blend and interconnect with ease and order without really knowing why. The invisible hook of fate crochets us together to form a civilization, a world. We form one stable unit until we are unraveled by fate again. Unraveled through war, injustice and poverty, we strive to be one again through peace, justice and equality. We are but the stitches of a scarf held together by fate and fate will be out undoing unless we form a more permanent bond. We form the bond of hope.

The Treasure of Words 

It is often said that books are adventures. They are journeys to new places and new worlds but even more than that they are treasures. They teach us so much more than we realize. They teach us to see beyond our selves and imagine.

Imagination is a powerful thing. Most of society is built by someone using their imagination. The cars we drive, the homes we live in, the appliances we use were all from someone’s imagination.

All books are treasures. They make us think and sometimes act. The true power of words on paper is immeasurable.

There is no way to predict what will come from reading in childhood but we know what will happen without it. There would be no progress. There would be no imagination.

Books are the treasure of our world even if we don’t really understand their true power. Share a treasure and spread the power.

The Park Walkway

The snow covered walkway was icy and slick. Snow covered everything even the benches that lined the walkway. It clung to the bare branches of the black skeleton trees. Here and there were the tracks of animals of the path in the deep snow. The air was so cold that one’s breath would freeze as soon as it left the body. The sky was grey and heavy with the threat of more heavy wet snow.  The frosty mist hung in the air giving the day a gloomy frozen pall. The damp chill was bone chilling. It caused one to rush instead of taking the time to take in the beauty of the cold winter day.
