Hiemal (of or relating to winter, wintry)
The snow blew in dancing swirls in the cold night air. There was the smell of more snow on the way in the air.
The thick white carpet was virtually undisturbed. The moon shone down and sparkled in the open spaces. One set of small tracks marred the surface.
A small rabbit poked its nose out of its burrow. It looked out over the tracks in the snow as if were wanting to follow them.
The bells of a sleigh rang out over forest. The hooves of the horse pounded on the snow covered road. The sleigh slid smoothly and quickly over the road.
The rabbit ducked back into the burrow as the sleigh passed. As soon as the sleigh was out of sight the rabbit poked its nose back out.
A little rabbit ran across the tracks left in the snow by the sleigh to touch noses with its mate before it goes inside to curl back up and sleep the winter away.
