Rain Song
The spring rain fell from the sky. The raindrops danced on the tin roof making a melody all their own. It had its own rhythm. The song wasn’t sad or happy it was somewhere in between, ambivalent in a way.

It didn’t care that its song would bring more destruction and more sorrow. The lively stream and its mother, the rushing river was already full and near bursting from their beds. They were angry and disturbed at being swollen.

This was spring, a time of beginnings but it always seemed to bring destruction first. This time destruction came in the form of floods.

The rising waters whisked away anything it could as it made its way along it predetermined path of destruction. Nothing was sacred. Houses, churches, and the debris of life were all victims. Nothing was left untouched.

The raindrops kept up their ambivalent song. They cared little for what would happen when they fell in this place at this time. All they knew was the song and how to play the melody on a tin roof.

The Wild Garden
The varicolored blooms raise their heads to the sunshine. Reds, yellows, and purples crowd together in clumps of friendly faces. The blooms sun themselves. They fluttered in the breeze bobbing and nodding at each other. Their green limbs worshipped the sun and held them in formation.

The garden gave a happy feeling to the air as much as they fragranced it. Each breeze gave a different wisp of possibility as each flowers fragrance took turns riding the air.

The garden had a long winding path made with stepping stones. Along the walk through the garden, farragoes of groups wildly growing blooms danced in welcome. They almost looked happy to see the visitors that visited there.

The great oak tree in the center of the garden was surrounded by stone benches. It was the anchor of the whole garden. The center of a colorful universe that exists only to give peace.
