 Was That A Flake?

Princess Endora Dionne and Lady Aura finished wrapping the gifts that went under the tree just as the first flake of snow fell outside.

Dionne was the first to notice that it was getting dark in the front room. She looked up and sighed. “It’s snowing again.”

“It’s almost Yule of course it’s snowing.” Endora said as she looked out the window. “I’m supposed to meet Paddrick at Brimstone Tavern.”

“I’ll send a message to Horace to tell Paddrick to come here.” Lady Aura said as she picked up a scrap of wrapping paper.

Before she could enchant the paper, there was a knock at the door. Lady Aura smiled and went to answer it. “It’s probably him now.”

The Captain of the Sidhe Guard stood there with apologetic look on his face. “I’m looking for the Princess, My Lady.”

“She’s here.” Lady Aura waved him inside.

“Princess Endora, the Queen requires your presence as a matter of urgency.” The Captain said stiffly.

“What is it Captain?” Endora said as she went to get her cloak. “Is there something wrong?”

“No Princess but I need to get you to the palace as quickly as possible.” The Captain said. “I was sent to escort you.”

“Then we should go immediately. Dionne?” Endora looked at her.

Dionne nodded and retrieved her cloak.

The two faeries waved to Lady Aura and went out the door.

The Captain bowed to Lady Aura and followed the two faeries out.

Well This Is A Surprise

Princess Endora and Dionne followed the Captain of the Sidhe Guard in silence. Princess Endora was a little worried. It must be something very important to call them back to the Palace on such short notice.

As they walked into the courtyard they saw a strange carriage in front of the palace steps. Princess Endora rushed past the Captain of the Sidhe Guard into the Throne Room. She was more worried about the summons than a strange carriage in the courtyard.

“Here she is now.” Queen Taralen smiled to the woman in a bright blue gown who had her back turned to the door.

“Majesty, what urgent matter did you wish to see me about?” Princess Endora said breathlessly as she bowed to her grandmother.

“I’m afraid that I am the cause of your summons.” The woman turned and smiled at her. “I am Queen March of the Tylwyth Teg.”

Princess Endora looked up with wide eyes. She was meeting her future mother in law looking like something that has been in the stable for a week. “Your Majesty, welcome to our Court.”

“I was expecting to find Paddrick here but your grandmother says he is not staying here. Do you have any idea where he may be?” Queen March asked.

“He is in Brimstone. He is staying at Brimstone Tavern. They rent rooms over the taproom.” Princess Endora told her.

“That sounds like my son.” Queen March looked at Queen Taralen. “Could I trouble you to have your Captain fetch my son?”

“It isn’t any trouble at all. Captain, please find Prince Paddrick and bring him to the Palace.” Queen Taralen directed the man.

“He will be in the taproom. He was expecting me for lunch.” Princess Endora told him.

The Captain of the Sidhe Guard bowed and left to fetch the Prince of the Tylwyth Teg.

The two Queens looked at each other and shared a knowing smile.
