Cedrick looked up from the post when he heard the rustle of silk skirts on the stairs. He smiled when he saw Violet in a sky blue silk gown.
"You're not dressed." Violet stopped on the stairs and shook her finger at him. "We need to leave now or we will be late."
"Your Aunt will think it was you that made us late. I'm going up now." Cedrick started up the stairs but stopped next to her. "You're beautiful by the way. "
Violet smacked him on the arm with her fan. "Stop your flirting and get your dinner jacket on."
"I will be back down by the time you get your gloves on." Cedrick kissed her cheek and hurried up to get dressed.
Violet smiled and looked at the gloves in her hand. "I'll hold you to it."
"You're not dressed." Violet stopped on the stairs and shook her finger at him. "We need to leave now or we will be late."
