Remember To Love Me

I was startled by what I saw on your office wall. It was next to a photo of me. It was a yellow sticky note.

Is that what our love has been reduced to? A reminder scrawled on a sticky note.

Why must you be reminded to do something you once did so easily? Have I changed? Have you changed? When did this happen?

There are so many questions that have been brought to my mind all because of a sticky note on your office wall.

You loved me once as easily as breathing. I loved you that way too. I still do. 

For now use the sticky note to remind you of me and what I once meant to you. Someday the glue will dry up and it will fall to the floor and be swept away.

I remember when you would be swept away with passion for me. It has been so long now that it is a distant memory. A feeling that once was will be gone.

I have left another sticky note on your wall. It says: Don’t bother.
