Summary: Princess Endora sees tracks in the mud during her ride.
Princess Endora slid off her horse, Sugarplum's back and walked to the edge of the road. There was a track in the mud that looked familiar but it was out of place.
The horse neighed and nudged the princess.
“It’s okay Sugarplum. I'm sure it’s just lost. Stay here and I will be right back.” Endora tied the reigns to a branch and started to follow the tracks into the woods along the road.
She followed the tracks to a clearing. She heard a rumble behind some rocks and pulled her sword out of the sheath on her side. She walked quietly to the rocks and peeked over them.
The sight she saw made her smile. Puff, her sisters elemental earth dragon, was rolled into a ball and sucking his tail as he slept.
Endora stepped around the rocks to wake him up. “Puff! Puff! Wake up!”
Puff snorted and spit out his tail. He looked up wide eyed. He gave her a big grin when he realized it was Endora.
“What are you doing here? Did you fall through the barrier again?” Endora asked the sleepy dragon.
Puff stood up and stretched. He nodded and looked around.
“Come on. I'll take you back through the mist to Crystal Spires.” Endora started walking back to the road. “You really need to be more careful.”
Puff stretched one more time and followed her to Sugarplum.
The horse eyed the dragon with suspicion.
“It’s just Puff. We need to get him back before Aura sends out a search party or the patrol finds him.” Endora mounted the horse and headed to the passage way between realms.
Puff trotted along beside the horse.
Aura appeared out of the mist as soon as they approached the passage way. “Myrdren! What are you doing in the Faerie Realm? You know you can't be here.”
Puff looked down and sighed.
“I think that he just got turned around.” Endora smiled. “But he's lucky I saw his tracks. If the patrol had found him, he would have ended up in the dungeon. Go on Puff and remember… no dragons in the Faerie Realm.”
“Thank you Endora.” Aura put her hand on Puff’s head and shimmered them both back to Una.
“We can keep a secret, can't we Sugarplum?” Endora patted the horse’s neck. “Didn't see a single dragon all day, right?”
The horse snorted and turned onto the road to the castle.
