NaNoWriMo Notes: Final Thoughts and Final Validation*

General Stuff
So it’s over and I got there and then some. I’m actually surprised at my final count. I didn’t know I could write that much in one month.
The novel that I was writing (The Russian Husband) is still not close to done, so it will be a while before you hear anything about it. Hopefully, I will be looking for a beta soon and then looking into self-publishing.
So if you’re in the mood for a het smut filled e-book where the main female character’s two best friends are a married lesbian couple and you beta….Let me know.
Just some things:
1. This year was so different than last year. I was amazed how much better the experience was this year. I think I will continue to make NaNoWriMo an annual thing.
2, I didn’t panic at the beginning like I did last year. I think that was my nerves. It gave me writers block several times in that month. It was because I didn’t think I could do it last year but this year I knew I could because I had.
3. I was prepared this year. I had my notes and outline all ready before November 1. I even had backups in case I lost my focus. (or my nerve) I never got to any of them or the side project I was supposed to do.
4. I limited my fan fiction to only things I do every month. I only did Camelot Drabble and Dove Drabbles this time. Although I did sneak an Arrow ficlet in around the middle of the month but that was because it wouldn’t leave me alone. It helped that I wasn’t trying to write everything all at once.
5. I wrote on the phone a lot. It let me be comfortable under the covers when it was cold and there were no internet distractions. (Tumblr, I’m talking about you!) I only have one game on my phone and I hate it so that also helped.
I think my poor “Blackbearie” is dying now. It’s time to get a new one. I’m not saying that NaNoWriMo killed it but I think it may have helped hasten its decent into the void.
*Final Validation is for NaNoWriMo only and doesn’t include 4173 words of fan fiction written this month.
This is being cross posted for my LiveJournal friends to see since everything Original Fiction is normally posted in my Dreamwidth journal. Anytime you want to pop over and look around, you’ll find everything is posted publicly.
