Describe A Scene #1 (Screen Cap Merlin 1x01)

The late afternoon sky blushed in among patches of blue and gold. It glittered through the bare tree branches and framed the landscape as far as the eye could see.

A slightly chilled breeze whipped the hillside. What leaves that were left on the trees whistled in the wind. The brush on the hillside rustled adding to the sound of the birds and animals living there.

There was a faint smell of snow in the air that mixed with the pine trees and rotting leaves of the forest. Considering the lateness of the year and the present season, it was not surprising.

At the crest of the hill, a castle came into view. It was large and made of a light colored stone. Several cylindrical turrets reached skyward with the banners of the kingdom’s colors waving high in the chilly breeze. Several large chimney stacks bespoke of the large hearths in the great chambers contained within its walls. It was a symbol of a rich kingdom and a capable king.

In the shadow of the castle walls lay a village. It was large and well kept. No doubt many of the residents of the village were in service at the castle. A castle of that size would need a large compliment of servants. The homes were close together speaking to the closeness of their community.
