Puff, Splash and Sprite stared at the strange creature trying to fit in a jar. They looked at each other and as if they knew exactly what the others are thinking.
They ran in different directions looking for a better home for the little creature. They all came back with shells and laid them on the ground next to the little crab.
It crawled out of the jam jar and inspected each one of the gifts. It chose the one that sprite had found. It was pink and sparkly. Sprite grinned.
In the distance, a clap of thunder was met with a streak of fire as the battle started. The Thunderbirds had come to the roosting area in an effort to take it.
The Phoenixes were not going to give it up without a fight. They had already evacuated the chicks, females and others that were unable to fight. They were prepared and well-armed.
A few of the older Phoenixes had taken on the leadership role that had been vacated by the death of Elder Pyre.
The Thunderbirds were surprised by the well-armed and organized opposition they encountered. They retreated quickly.
A fox looked on as a well-armed man came over the wall from Ren. He looked around and smiled at the creature that stared at him.
On the Zestra side of the wall, it was a meadow but on the other side it was a dry gravely landscape.
Leeas looked around to get his bearings and looked at the fox again.
The little fox just continued to stare at him.
Leeas laughed and headed for the druid school. He needed to speak with the druids about what he had learned in Ren. They would instruct him on how to proceed.

Aura sat outside in the back garden of her cottage in Rosemont. The summer flowers were in full bloom and the grass had just been mowed. It was the perfect summer day.
She took a sip of the ice cold tea in her glass and sighed. She wondered how long it would be before someone would interrupt her peace. Someone always interrupted her peace.
She didn’t have long to wait. A dusty man and a large dog entered her back garden from the side gate.
During the final days of summer, just as the days were starting to get crisp, the musicians gathered together to have a music festival at Magickal Downs.
Magickal Downs was usually a sporting arena but for that time everyone put down their weapons and listened to the most beautiful music that Ogham-Duir had to offer.
There was music from all the lands of Ogham-Duir. Even musicians as far as the capital of Ren came to play. Magickal musicians were welcomed as well as the mundane.
The cost was free but donations were always welcomed. Being a musician was hard work.
The dragons of Ogham-Duir roam freely. To someone who has never seen a dragon up close, it can be a little disconcerting especially if you walk up on one.
Most of the elemental dragons are the size of large hounds. They are friendly and like attention for the most part. Some are shy too.
Don’t be fooled! They are just as dangerous as a dragon three times their size when they are provoked. They are protective of each other and their caretakers.
Tread carefully along the streets of the villages. You never know when a dragon is around the corner.
A faerie’s dust is full of magick. It is said to be the essence of their magick.
Most faeries can produce dust by beating their wings hard. That is not the case for all of the faeries. Some have difficulty making large quantities of dust and others cannot make it at all.
If there is an impurity in their blood line their dust will be affected. If there is insect blood in the line, the dust is nearly useless.
The gold dust of a pure blood royal is the strongest and the most magickal. It can truly make anything happen.
The teleportation magick used by faeries is called shimmer. The name comes from the effect of the cloud around the faerie who is teleporting. The cloud makes the faerie shimmer like it is dust itself.
The color of the shimmer depends on the type of faerie using the power. The Tuathe have a shimmer that is silver. The Tylwyth Teg has a green shimmer and the Perri of the east shimmer in a red color.
The royal blood of any faerie race shimmers in pure gold. A royal child of questionable parentage is made to shimmer to prove their status.
Every faerie carries a crystal. With this crystal they can make a portal to any realm they wish. All a faerie had to do it want to go somewhere and the crystal will take them there even if they have never been there before.
Crystals are set in a variety of materials from iron to gold and a few others in between. The material the crystal is set in has no effect on it. Materials are generally based on status.
Most crystals are necklaces but they can be set into bracelets and watch fobs. Males prefer bracelets and watch fobs.
Blackstone Tor stands near the south west corner of Ogham-Duir. It is used as a ceremonial place for sacred rituals and rites.
The Tor is made from large black stones standing straight up and several stones sitting on top of those to make doorways for the sun and the moon and even the veil to the world of the dead.
The altar in the center is far more ancient than the stones surrounding it. There are carvings and symbols that not even the druids recognize. Some say it was put there by the goddess herself. It’s possible that is was.
In the Kingdom of Cullen, the ruling family is the House of Glass. Their last remaining heir sits on the throne.
The roads to this green and wooded kingdom are not safe for travelers. Their land is rife with bandit with hearts of gold. They will rob you but only if you are able to afford it.
No one goes without in this land. If there is a need the bandits of the roadways make the need a reality. It is often said that the only reason they steal is to help those in need. The truth is really unknown.
In the Republic of Ren, all magick and magickal creatures are banned. After the evil sorceress was defeated the people drove out anything or anyone that even had a connection to magick. Those found to be gifted with magickal powers or those who work at spells are either executed or banished.
The Wall of Ren was created to keep magickal beasts from wondering into Ren unaware. Even dragons are not allowed past the wall. If a dragon were to be caught inside of Ren it would be immediately taken back to the dragon sanctuary at Aster Cliffs and not harmed.
The Kingdom of Zestra is the most mystical of all the five realms of Ogham-Duir. Even the ruling family, the House of Zestrain, has been trained in the magickal arts. Every generation of the ruling family since the establishment of the kingdom has been trained at the Druid Academy or on Alban Isle with the Holy Sisters.
The Kingdom of Zestra also has the most beautiful of all the palaces in the five realms. The Crystal Fortress shines brightly like a beacon to all that come there.
Zestra is a sanctuary for all that come seeking peace and true spirituality.
The Republic of Una was once a monarch like Zestra and Cullen but when the last of the ruling family died the people decided to rule themselves.
Una or Faerieglen as it is sometimes called is the largest of all the five realms. It is the center of Ogham-Duir and is populated by a mixture of magickal, mundane and faerie residents. All are represented in the ruling government.
It is also the way to the passage to the Tuathan Realm of the faeries. The faeries have always been a part of Una. Some believe that is why it’s called Faerieglen.
In its glory the Isle of Atlantis was the most beautiful place in the world. The crystal towers shone brightly in the distance for all to see. It was the center of commerce and learning for the new world. It also worked as a place of peace where members of all races could come to have their conflicts mediated by a group of elders.
For most it was the first stop in the new world as they traveled on to the Northern Lands, the Western Coasts or as far away as Lemuria, its sister city.
White is the color of the Tuathe. They wear white and they live in white houses. Color is not permitted in the realm of the Tuathe. This holds true for both the southern court and the northern court. Tradition says the Tuathe are the purest of the faeries that is why white is their color.
Some find this law restrictive and rebel against it as often as possible. Even the Princess of the Southern Court will wear a tunic in a pale shade of color when she gets the urge. There is no set punishment for wearing color only embarrassment.
93. Author’s Choice – Prince [Prince Paddrick, Prince Dragas (FFQP, OD)]
There are princes living in the five realms of Ogham-Duir.
From Zestra, there is Prince Dragas. He is a Druid by training and a prince by birth. He is married to Lady Aura who is a princess without a title. He is a kind and honorable man who helps others as needs arise.
Prince Paddrick is new to Ogham-Duir. He is from the Court of the Tylwyth Teg in Wales. He is betrothed to Princess Endora and will be her consort and king. He is still learning what it means to be a citizen of Ogham-Duir and the Southern Court.
94. Author’s Choice – Princess [Princess Cara, Lady Aura, Lady Victra, Lady Endora (FFQP, OD)]
There are four princesses in the five realms of Ogham-Duir. They are all of faerie decent. They are the Crown Princess Cara and her three daughters: Aura, Victra and Endora.
Aura is the oldest and the most trained in the arts of spell craft and magick. She is the High priestess of Una.
Victra is the middle child. She lives on Alban Isle and is said to be the next Lady or leader there.
Endora, the heir to the Tuathe crown is the youngest. She is brave and a warrior. Her training has been augmented with earth and Druid magick.
Queen March looked around the castle of the Southern Court of the Tuathe and sighed. Everything was white from the floor to the ceiling. She took out some of her many colored shawls and started to drape them around. She needed color and lots of it.
Queen March stood back and looked at what she had accomplished and was at least partly satisfied. The world was full of color even though the castle of the Southern Court of the Tuathe was not.
She heard a knock on the door and standing there was Endora with a bright bunch of wildflowers.
The great privilege of being High Priestess of Una was passed down to Aura when the previous High Priestess died. It is a great responsibility that Aura trained for many years. It took a great deal of study and practice to be able to become the leader of the Goddess faith.
Aura had to learn the healing arts, giving her the power to heal many different creatures including the mundane.
Aura also had to learn the earth magick that was foreign to her nature. As a Draconian, she had the power of dragon magick already. She struggled but prevailed, eventually.
Dionne wasn’t just any handmaiden. She was the handmaiden of a Questing Princess. That made her job even more dangerous and exciting.
She accompanied Princess Endora on many quests and even came along when the Princess fought battles. The small comforts being most important in times like that.
Dionne would sometimes dream of questing when making the bed and tidying up for the Princess. Monsters and battles played in her head as she did laundry and saw to the errands.
Handmaiden was not even close to being an accurate description of what Dionne was. She wasn’t sure what would be.
A draconian is a magickal creature. It is half human and half dragon. They are very close kin with the elemental dragons. There are five distinct kinds: fire water earth air and chaos.
No one knows when the first draconian came into being. Some are as old as time themselves.
The race nearly died out at one point but when the draconian settlement of Astoria in the kingdom of Zestra was established, it saved the race from extinction.
The settlement has grown over the years and the draconian have traveled from distant lands to call it home. They’re safe here.
99. Author’s Choice – Shadow [Jonas Bagdar, Lady Aura (OD)]
The newest race to come to Ogham-Duir is the Shadow Warriors. Little is known about them. They started to appear one by one out of nowhere. They seem to be fleeing their former realm.
Ogham-Duir will welcome them without question but there is the question of will what they are fleeing from follow them here. Will there arrival bring trouble for the people of this world?
No one knows but soon all will learn the reason behind the sudden appearance of their kind. For one of them is on his way to meet the High Priestess and ask for help.
Welcome to the five realms of Ogham-Duir. This is a nice place to visit but an even better one to put down some roots. All are welcome.
With beaches and forests as well as deserts, there are many places to call home. Even the most particular of creatures can find somewhere to all their own.
Our world is a quiet place for those who wish for peace harmony and solitude. There are many places to do just that.
However don’t discount our cities and villages. They are thriving centers of activity and commerce. Culture and diversity is their true gift.
